KIDS CORNER
In lieu of giving the kids an entire website for themselves (which they think would be "pretty cool") I have decided to let them have this kids corner.
You never know......... you might read something interesting, after all - kids do say the darndest things!!!!!

SALES POLICY AT TRAILSEND STABLE
If I don't think the horse is the right match for you, I simply wont sell you the horse!
I take pride in the reputation I have built for over 20 years as a person who truly is more intent on
finding the right Horse/Rider match - than just "making a sale"
Please read some of the references from people who have purchased a horse from me in the past.
I recently ran into "Kathy" - who said, "I know you! I came to look at horse you had for sale about 4 or 5 years ago and you wouldn't sell it to me - you thought it was too much horse for me!!" She then went on to tell me that I was right and that the horse she did end up buying was a wonderful horse and a great match!! Thank You Kathy!!
2010 RESERVE CHAMPION

CAIRO
1999 Bay - 17 hand - Danish Warmblood Gelding
$55,000
Cairo is an expressive mover with powerful and elastic gaits. He has an excellent work ethic and is a pleasure to handle in the stable. Loves his flying changes and lateral work.
He is a talented and sensitive horse who offers an outstanding opportunity for a professional or experienced Amatuer or Young Rider. Just needs to be finished to Grand Prix!
RED RED WINE has been started under saddle and is always relaxed and confident with her rider!
Ginger's story:
Ginger came to us in summer 2010.
When she first came to use she was scared of everything and everyone.
It took weeks (maybe months) before we could even catch her. When we finally started her under saddle she was nervous but never considered a bolt, buck or rear. In fact - Ginger's problem was the absolute opposite!! She wouldn't GO. As she came from an abuse background, the last thing we could do to get her to go forward was to chase her with a lunge whip. She was frozen in fear and could not trot. We were very close to giving up on her, then plan"B" came into effect!!
Plan"B":
We lead her from the back of another pony, one of her pasturemates. After only a few tries at trotting next to one of her friends - she realized that trotting wasn't such a bad thing!! Now to get her to trot under saddle with a rider. - she learned, again, being lead from another pony, that it was OK to have a person on her back and to trot. She then moved to trotting just following her friend until she was finally able to walk and trot around the arena with a rider with no problem.
How will we ever get her to canter??? that can come later - right now we need to work this pony over fences because she LOVES it!!! - and is a natural at it.
Updates on Ginger's progress will follow............
UPDATE:
Ginger can Canter!!!!! We are so proud of this pony. she is now so trusting of us and so eager to please that she learned to canter. We worked with her in the round pen teaching her the voice commmand. every time she would canter we would say "canter" over and over and over. She very quickly made the connection (she is VERY smart).
Next step - cantering with a rider.
Not only can Ginger canter --- she can canter a jump!!!
